Singapore Basketball Centre, Thursday, July 10, 2014 — Maris Stella High (MSH) defeated Orchid Park Secondary (OPS) 45–27 to advance to the second round of the North Zone C Division Boys’ Basketball Championship.

Maris Stella High have a 4–0 win-loss record, while Orchid Park Secondary have a 2–2 win-loss record.

OPS (#6) led all scorers with 14 points. Albert (MSH #8) led Maris Stella with 13 points, while teammate Zhan Xian (MSH #15) had 10 points.

Maris Stella managed to keep the lead throughout the game. The team showed good teamwork and performance. They were fast in their offence and Orchid Park were unable to stop them from netting the ball. Maris Stella ended the first quarter with a 15–5 lead.

Maris Stella recovered on defence very quickly. Orchid Park had a hard time breaking through their defence, but managed to reduce the deficit to 13–19 at the end of the second quarter.

In the third quarter, OPS (#6) tied the game at 19 apiece. Not long later, Kai Xuan (MSH #4) broke the tie and Maris Stella never looked back to take the 45–27 victory. Maris Stella topped Group B, proceeding to the second round, while Orchid Park have been eliminated.
