PESEB, Friday, August 15, 2014 — Regent Secondary took out Junyuan Secondary 17–0 to clinch third place in the National C Division Rugby Bowl Championship. Both teams met earlier in the competition, with Regent taking that game 55–0.
Regent took control of the game from the start, going on the offence immediately after the kickoff. They did their best to try and break past the Junyuan line of defence in the first few minutes, but the Junyuan players responded well to shut off their runs.
The breakthrough came for Regent went Naufal Fitri (Regent #13) was able to run down and take the ‘up and under’ kick over for a try. The try prove to be a catalyst for Regent, as they used their forward pack to help them punch through into Junyuan territory.
Junyuan had trouble claiming territory, as their backs seemed to fumble passes at key moments. The wet conditions of the pitch clearly affected the play of both teams, as players were more judicious with their passes. Regent went into the half holding a 5–0 lead.
Regent had the opportunity to extend their lead at the start of the second half. However, Muhammad Alfian (Regent #12) could only slice his kick to the left of the uprights.
Junyuan then had a minor revival, advancing close enough to threaten to score a try. Regent did well to stave off the Junyuan advance, shutting them down at their own 5-yard line. They were then able to push the ball back to the halfway line.
Out of the scrum, Dylan Ho (Regent #7) did well to heed his coach’s instructions to dive down the left wing, claiming a second try for his team. This lifted the mood amongst the Regent team and they continued to pile forward in search of another try to put the game away for good.
Muhammad Alfian (Regent #12) was able to score the final try of the game. He picked up a dropped ball by a Junyuan player and raced over the try line to score. Regent eventually took the game 17–0, claiming third place in the Bowl championship in the process.
Regent captain, Muhammad Alfian (#12), said, “I think we put in more effort into the game. We defended well, but there was a lack of offence from our side. I feel very proud of my school and my teammates. It was a good start for the Secondary Ones to continue from. I would like to thank our coach and Muhammad Ukashah for the win.”

There is been a mistake in the the try scorers section and the last part of the story. The try scorers are actually . Naufal, dylanho and alfian. The last part of the story where i try was not me who try it was alfian. He went to pick up the ball when the junyan player drop the ball. Alfian pick up the ball and ran as fast he could scoring the try.
Thanks for the correction Naufal! We will correct that in the story.
