South Korea, Saturday, October 4, 2014 — National paddler Feng Tianwei clinched Singapore’s final Asiad medal, after going down 11–13, 11–13, 12–14, 8–11 to China’s Zhu Yuling in the semi-final of the women’s singles event. Feng won the bronze as there are no third-place playoffs in the event.
South Korea, Friday, October 3, 2014 — Despite going down 1–4 to China’s Xu Xin and Fan Zhen Dong, Gao Ning and Li Hu won the bronze medal in the men’s doubles event, as there are no third-place playoffs. The medal is Singapore’s 12th bronze medal at the Incheon Asian Games.
South Korea, Thursday, October 2, 2014 — Gao Ning and Li Hu continued their good showing in the men’s doubles event, securing a 3–1 victory over Mizutani Jun and Kishikawa Seiya of Japan to advance to the semi-final.
In the women’s singles quarter-final, Feng Tianwei survived a late comeback by Japan’s Ai Fukuhara, defeating the latter 4–3 to advance to the semi-final.
South Korea, Wednesday, October 1, 2014 — Gao Ning and Li Hu have advanced to the quarter-final, following their 3–1 victory over Chinese Taipei in the round of 16 of the men’s doubles event.
The pair also experienced success in their singles events, defeating their respective Mongolian opponents 4–0 to advance to the round of 16.
South Korea, Tuesday, September 30, 2014 — Both teams in the men’s doubles event advanced to the round of 16 with their respective victories in the round of 32. Li Hu and Gao Ning defeated Kuwait 3–0, while fellow compatriots Yang Zi and Chen Feng had a similar showing against Macau.
In the mixed doubles event, both teams were eliminated after losing 1–3 and 2–3 to China and Hong Kong respectively.
South Korea, Monday, September 29, 2014 — A 2–3 semi-final loss to Japan meant that Feng Tianwei, Isabelle Li, Zhou Yihan, Lin Ye and Yu Mengyu had to settle for the bronze medal in the women’s team event. The medal was awarded as there are no third-place playoffs in the event.
Both teams in the mixed doubles event advanced to the round of 16 after their respective victories in the round of 32. Li Hu and Zhou Yihan defeated Macau 3–0, while Yang Zi and Lin Ye defeated Kazakhstan 3–0 as well.
In the women’s doubles event, Lin Ye and Zhou Yihan defeated Kuwait 3–0 to advance to the round of 16, where they will face China.
South Korea, Sunday, September 28, 2014 — The national women’s table tennis team, comprising of Feng Tianwei, Isabelle Li, Zhou Yihan, Lin Ye and Yu Mengyu, defeated Indonesia 3–0 in the quarter-final of the women’s team event to secure a semi-final berth.
The women’s team had earlier defeated Thailand 3–0 in their final preliminary round game to advance to the quarter-final.
The men’s team, made up of Yang Zi, Li Hu, Gao Ning, Chen Feng and Clarence Chew, advanced to the quarter-final despite a 2–3 loss against top-ranked China. However, the men’s team did not qualify for the semi-final as they went down 0–3 to South Korea, who are third-ranked in Asia.
South Korea, Saturday, September 27, 2014 — Both Singapore’s table tennis men’s and women’s teams recorded their first two victories in their respective team events.
The trio of Gao Ning, Li Hu and Chen Feng defeated Kingdom of Saudi Arabia 3–0 in their opening game of the men’s team event, recording their first preliminary round victory in Group A.
Isabelle Li, Lin Ye and Zhou Yihan had a similar showing in the women’s team event, beating Qatar 3–0 to record their first preliminary round victory in Group B.
Later in the day, Gao Ning, Li Hu and Clarence Chew notched their second victory in the men’s team event, defeating Laos 3–0.
The women’s team faced Chinese Taipei, ranked seventh in Asia, in their second preliminary round game, and edged the latter 3–2 for their second straight victory.
