Bukit Gombak Stadium, Thursday, April 16, 2015 — A time of 1 minute and 2.09 seconds returned defending champion Diane Pragasam of Singapore Sports School the title in the C Division girls’ 400m event at the 56th National Inter-School Track and Field Championships.

Diane won last year with a timing of 1:02.18. She also took part in the National Inter-Primary Schools Track and Field Championships in 2013, where she finished fourth in the B Division girls’ 200m.

“I felt good and my training from my coach, Coach Margaret (Oh), paid off,” she said, when asked about her performance.

Diane went on to acknowledge the strong support that she had received ever since she entered the Singapore Sports School. One example was her experience from her race today. “It gets hard to push yourself in the last 100m of the race, but the loud cheers from the stands helped me a lot,” she mentioned.

“The school and the team’s General Manager, Ms Jenny Lim, have been guiding me well,” she explained.

Coming in second with 1:03.79 was Phoebe Law of Nanyang Girls’ High, while the bronze went to Noor Fatehah of CHIJ Secondary (Toa Payoh) who ran 1:04.46.
