Bukit Gombak Stadium, Friday, April 17, 2015 — In her maiden outing at the 56th National Inter-School Track and Field Championships, Eilis Hor (#375) of Nanyang Girls’ High clocked a timing of 2 minutes and 38.74 seconds to top the field for her first C Division girls’ 800m title.
“Even though I didn’t do very well, I’m quite happy with my rest and I’m proud of bringing my team glory and doing well for them,” said the 12-year-old, who turns 13 later in November this year.
“Although I made some mistakes in my race and did not manage to better my personal best, I think I’ve learnt quite a lot from this race,” added Hor, whose current personal best is 2:38.00.
The Nanyang Girls’ High student will also be competing in the C Division girls’ 1500m final, which will be held on Monday, 4.10 p.m. at Bukit Gombak Stadium.

The C Division girls’ 800m record is 2:25.76 and it was set by Singapore Sports School alumna, Lossini D/O Jeyapandiyen, in 2004.
