Choa Chu Kang Stadium, Wednesday, April 22, 2015 — Hariz Darajit of Raffles Institution (RI) broke from the pack to win the B Division boys’ 100 metres title in a time of 11.19 seconds at the 56th National Inter-School Track & Field Championships.
This is his second consecutive title in this category. Last year, he won the title with a timing of 11.36 seconds.
Singapore Sports School’s Joel Ho claimed silver in 11.43 seconds, while Joshua Yap of RI finished third with a timing of 11.60 seconds.
Hariz also ran the 4x100m relay, and helped RI to finish second behind Singapore Sports School.
About his performance, Hariz said, “Actually, I was quite wound up by some of the other athletes because they all started quite fast. To be honest, I was panicking in the middle part but I’m happy that it all went through smoothly. I didn’t do my personal best but I’m happy with the result.”
