Singapore Indoor Stadium, Thursday, June 4, 2015 — Following his success in the men’s doubles, Gao Ning earned his second gold medal in the men’s singles, recording a convincing 4–1 (11–6, 11–9, 9–11, 11–8, 11–3) victory over Richard Gonzales of the Philippines in the table tennis competition at the 28th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games.

Compatriot Clarence Chew, who went down 3–4 (4–11, 12–10, 11–8, 11–9, 9–11, 4–11, 10–12) to the Filipino earlier in the semi-final, settled for the joint-bronze medal, alongside Thailand’s Padasak Tanviriyavechakul. The Thai went down 2–4 (11–9, 3–11, 12–10, 6–11, 6–11, 11–13) to Gao.
