National University of Singapore, Wednesday, September 9, 2015 — A balanced team effort helped Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) to a comfortable 81-37 win over Singapore Management University (SMU), giving them their second win at the Singapore University Games (SUniG) women’s basketball championship.

Led by a 14-point effort by Priscilla Han (#13), SIM did not have it easy in the opening minutes of the game.

Despite having more opportunities at the basket, they simply could not convert their attempts, allowing SMU to keep within reach.

Debbie Ngo (#10) helped the 2014 runners-up settle down in the game, scoring seven of her 13 points, and facilitating on seven more in the frame.

While SIM had a balanced output from their bench as well, SMU were anchored by Lee Si Yi (#1) and Priya Muhindhran (#7), who kept their heads up and pushed their team on offence.

With Tung Kah Hui’s (#1) help, SIM closed out the final quarter, holding their opponents to just four points to eventually seal the 44-point victory.

SIM will next face Singapore University of Technology and Design in their next game, while SMU will go up against defending champions Nanyang Technological University. The games will be held on Friday, September 11, at 7 p.m. and 8.30 p.m. respectively.
