OCBC Arena Hall 2, Saturday, December 5, 2015 — Tay Wei Ming, Wong Ling Hoei and Jovenn Siow competed in two games each in the preliminary stage of the Badminton Men’s Singles category in the ASEAN Para Games.

Tay Wei Ming won one game (21–15, 21–9) against Malaysia’s Ahmad Effendi, but lost the other one (7–21, 12–21) to Indonesia’s Suryo Nugroho.

On the other hand, Wong Ling Hoei and Jovenn Siow both went down 0–2 to their respective opponents in all of their games.

When asked about his performance today, Wei Ming commented, “I feel that my performance today is okay because this is the first time I am competing on home ground as my competitions were mostly overseas and it is a different experience competing on home ground.”

On areas of improvement, Wei Ming hopes to improve the consistencies of his shots, and to rally more and cut down on unnecessary errors. He hopes to attain a medal for Singapore and seeks to do his best in front of the home crowd.

“Enjoy the process when you play and hopefully the rest of the matches will be good,” said Wei Ming.
