Republic Polytechnic, Wednesday, February 3, 2016 – CHIJ St Joseph’s Convent (SJC) overwhelmed Naval Base Secondary (NBS) 55-8 in the North Zone B Division Netball Championship for their fifth straight consecutive win. For Naval Base, this was their third loss.
St. Joseph’s Convent built a comfortable lead of 13 goals (15-2) by the end of the first quarter.
From the second quarter, Lara (SJC GA) started to shoot more alongside teammate Alexis (SJC GS), as SJC outscored Naval Base 11-1 to build a 26-3 half time lead.
The SJC defense was solid, as they intercepted most of Naval Base’s passes, limiting them to just three goals in the first half.
In the third quarter, an SJC player went down injured, forcing a timeout. This did not slow SJC down, as they took a 40-6 lead into the fourth quarter.
A 15-2 final quarter wrapped up the 55-8 win.
