Singapore Basketball Centre, Wednesday, February 17, 2016 — North Vista Secondary cruised past Yio Chu Kang Secondary 93-28 in a one-sided North Zone B Division Basketball Championship round 2 encounter.

With the victory, North Vista improved to 8-0 for the season and is currently tied with Catholic High School for the longest active win streak in the Championship at eight games.

Christian Pepito (#19) and Dorian Chin (#34) both bagged game-highs, putting up 18 points apiece for the winning side. Terdratch Tan (#2) finished with a team-high 14 points for Yio Chu Kang.

The game started off surprisingly successful for the team in black, as North Vista struggled to find their offensive rhythm early in the game. With 5:45 left to go in the 1st quarter and the score tied at 7-7, North Vista’s reserves set the tone with an 18-2 run to close out the quarter; giving North Vista a lead that truly reflected their superiority.

North Vista’s performance grew as the game wore on and put up an impressive 28-0 3rd quarter, sinking four 3-pointers in the quarter alone with two apiece by Cristian Pepito (#19) and Lim Joe Yang (#1).

The result was never in doubt as North Vista eventually claimed a 65-point victory, their largest margin of victory in the 2nd round thus far.

In Group Y’s other results, Edgefield Secondary defeated Pei Hwa Secondary 68-43 while Woodgrove Secondary cemented their status as title contenders by knocking traditional powerhouse Presbyterian High out of the Championship with a 48-36 success.

North Vista next face Pei Hwa Secondary and a win for the North Zone powerhouse would guarantee a semi-final spot.

Yio Chu Kang next play Woodgrove Secondary. Woodgrove will similarly book their place in the semis with a victory over already eliminated Yio Chu Kang. Both games will be played at Singapore Basketball Centre.
