Republic Polytechnic, Tuesday, February 23, 2016 – CHIJ St Joseph’s Convent (SJC) rolled over Punggol Secondary (PS) 60-6 for their sixth straight win to qualify for the 2nd round of the North Zone B Division Netball Championship.

On the other hand, Punggol ended their season with a 3-3 record.

St Joseph’s Convent came right out of the gates with quick ball movement and tight defense to blitz Punggol 14-2 in the 1st period.

In the 2nd quarter, St Joseph’s Convent continued to lock down on the defensive end, forcing turnovers by Punggol. On the offensive end, quick ball movement and accurate passes allowed St Joseph’s Convent to find easy baskets. At halftime, St Joseph’s Convent led 28-3.

Punggol’s offense fired back, scoring two unanswered baskets within a short period at the start of the 3rd period.

However, it was downhill from then on as St Joseph’s Convent outscored Punggol 32-3 throughout the 2nd half. St Joseph’s Convent held Punggol scoreless in the fourth quarter with their suffocating defense.

At full-time, St Joseph’s Convent walked away with a 60-6 victory for their sixth straight win.
