OCBC Arena, Thursday, April 21, 2016 – Singapore Sports School (SSP) beat Anderson Secondary School (AND) 26-18 to finish third in the National B Division Netball Championship.

SSP had lost 27-30 to CHIJ Secondary (Toa Payoh) in one semi-final while Anderson went down 13-20 to Dunman Secondary in the other.

The two teams had met before in the North Zone Championship final and SSP had also come up tops then, beating Anderson 32-21.

Both teams were neck and neck in the first quarter with SSP holding a slim 6-5 lead at the break.

Anderson had a strong start to the second quarter, scoring three points in succession, to take an 8-6 lead.

SSP became more aggressive, intercepting many balls. SSP managed to regain and extend their lead with an 8-1 run to lead 14-9 at half time.

Anderson had many turnovers in the third quarter and SSP capitalised on their mistakes to score points.

However, Anderson composed themselves and began to make quick short passes to get past the SSP defence.

Anderson managed to outscore SSP 6-5 but the quarter ended with SSP still in the lead at 19-15.

SSP took charge of the fourth quarter, outscoring Anderson 7-3 to cement a 26-18 victory over Anderson to seal third.
