Singapore National Stadium, Friday, April 29, 2016 — Singapore Sports School (SSP) defended their B Division girls’ 4x100m relay title at the 57th National Schools Track and Field Championships.
The quartet of Nurul Syarah Bte Razali, Diane Pragasam, Ismi Zakiah Bte Kashful Anwar, and Raine Oh clocked 49.65 seconds.
SSP finished more than half a second ahead of Cedar Girls’ Secondary School, who claimed silver in 50.16s. Nanyang Girls’ High finished third in 52.07s.
Last year, the B Division SSP team clocked a timing of 49.32s.
It is the 11th consecutive year that SSP have secured the 4x100m girls’ title for the B Division.
The electronically-timed record, set by SSP themselves in 2011, still stands at 48.22s.
“We are really thankful and grateful for being able to defend the B Div 4x100m title. It was very pressurising to be running in front of such a big crowd with such great atmosphere!” said Raine Oh, the SSP anchor runner.
“We are thankful for all those who came down to support us and also thankful for those who went through this journey with us.”
