Darren Choy, Isabelle Li, Shahril Mohd Anuar, Amanda Lim and Clarence Tan were highlighted as young elite athletes to look for in the newspaper, Today (Monday, January 5, 2009).
These athletes are expected to fly the Singapore flag next year in the first Summer Youth Olympic Games which Singapore will host from August 14th to 26th.

oh my bad i missed the part about that darren guy.
Sailing has recently emerged as one of the most promising sports in Singapore, and I feel it is rather unfair to omit it from such an appraisal. Moreover, the class that will be contested at the YOG, the byte class, is one that is widely practiced in Singapore, and Singapore has frequently produced world champions in that class of boats. So I reckon it would be prudent to expect our sailors to do well in the YOG.
Among our national sailors, there is a certain Terence Choo who may stand out slightly from the rest. He is exceptional in the byte category, having won the individual title in the C division nationals by significant margins for two years in a row, and substantiating that with frequent good results in other regattas as well.
Just a thought.
