The B Division East Zone Basketball Championship is underway and most of the results are going according to expectations.
In the boys’ championship, Anglican High have a perfect 2-wins-0-losses record after they beat MacPherson Secondary (87-45) and Bedok View Secondary (54-21) comfortably.
Chung Cheng High (Main), expected to do well by readers (see poll below), are 0-2 after losing to East Spring Secondary (45-54) and Manjusri Secondary (43-53).
Dunman Secondary are 2-0, after beating Telok Kurau (93-50) and East Spring (64-44).
Dunman High, the other school in the top four of the readers’ poll, have a perfect 3-0 record, after beating Siglap Secondary (60-34), Ping Yi Secondary (63-39) and Bedok Green Secondary (52-23).
Manjusri and Ngee Ann both have perfect 2-0 records and should qualify for the next round.
In the girls’ championship, Dunman High are 2-0 with wins over Bedok View (27-23) and Tanjong Katong Girls’ (23-14).
St Anthony’s Canossian and Chung Cheng High (M) also have perfect 2-0 records so far.
Chung Cheng saw off Bedok Green (45-10) and Ngee Ann (27-22).
