Presbyterian High, Monday, April 4, 2011 — Ngee Ann Secondary edged out defending champions Dunman Secondary 3-1 (25-18, 22-25, 25-23, 25-17) to emerge third in the National B Division Girls’ Championship.
Peh Qianhui (Ngee Ann #17) led the scoring with 16 kills, three blocks and one service ace while team mate Wang Qi Hui (Ngee Ann #6) made an impact for the team as well with 13 kills and three service aces.
In the first set, Dunman let slip of an early lead to see Ngee Ann run ahead. A time out at the 18-15 mark by Dunman could not stop Ngee Ann’s push towards the end, as they conceded the first set 25-18. Dunman put up a spirited performance in the second set by storming to a 10-1 lead. However, Ngee Ann quickly regained their footing to narrow the score gap. Dunman held on to their lead as they headed into the second half of the set. Ngee Ann came within one point of Dunman at the 23-22 mark when the latter were unable to return the ball. However, Ong Weiyu (Dunman #3) subsequently took the next two points for the team to seal the set 25-22.
Ngee Ann asserted their authority in the third set as they took the lead from the start. A time out by Dunman at the 17-10 mark saw them stage a comeback as they clawed their way to level the score 19-19. However, Ngee Ann quickly took the lead again to leave Dunman to play catchup. Dunman managed to tie the score at the 23-23 mark after a spike by Celine (Dunman #9). Qianhui (Ngee Ann #17) put a stop to Dunman’s catchup as she sent an unreturnable spike into Dunman’s court to take set point for her team. She then forced a touchout from Celine’s (Dunman #9) block to take the third set for Ngee Ann.
Ngee Ann were on fire in the fourth set as they stormed ahead, leaving Dunman in their wake. They lead from start to finish with Dunman trailing by as much as 11-points. Despite Dunman managing to hold Ngee Ann at match point for four points, they had to contend with Ngee Ann taking the match after they sent a spike out of bounds.

i mean in this post there are only two out of so many pictures of ngee ann sec. i don’t mean to sound rude or anything and i’m sorry if i do but well that’s just my own opinion.
Well, I get where you are coming from. I think I should give you an explanation. My camera was “borrowed” by two friends who used it to shoot the match. I only shot the third set, and probably a bit of the fourth set. In the third set, Dunman was in front of me so I took more of them (which explains more Dunman pics in the post).
I did not put up any pictures taken by my friends as I did not explicitly ask them for permission to use their photos on the site. Also, as I was rushing to post this story so that I could work on the story on the final, I only randomly picked the best few pictures which stood out (not blur, properly composed etc), and coincidentally there were more Dunman ones.
Of course, I apologise if I have appeared to be bias against your team when I posted fewer pictures of you guys. That was not my intention at all. The selection of photos was genuinely random and not biased towards anybody.

I suppose the players in Photos 1 and 6 aren’t from Ngee Ann then.
It’s interesting how I come for YOUR match, put up YOUR photo, and yet I get accused of being biased. Wow.
