Peirce Secondary, Monday, February 2, 2009 - St. Gabriel’s Secondary School (SGSS) beat Catholic High School (CH) 4-1 margin in a boys’ C Division South Zone Table Tennis Championship match.
Despite improving in service, attack and match play since last year, the Catholic High players were unable to defeat their more skilful opponents.

There is always two sides to a coin. The good is it help to spur our locals to train harder to skill up. The bad is, like what Tzai Wei said, “demoralised after being trashed”.
Under-declared age aside, I would suggest to limit the numbers of imports allowed per match; how about 2 of 7?
Uncle Les, since you are in charge of redsports.
Please let our voices be heard.
We are getting sick and tired of training so hard just to get ousted by a couple of imports…
dont know if they reported their ages correctly..
they could have made ammendments back in China.
chung cheng(main), and sji too. Anyway the eastzone table tennis started today at loyang sec.
seriously i think a rule should be implemented so that schools wont just rely on imports to win championships.. it is really unfair
Which schools use imports apart from St Gabriel’s and Maris Stella?
Well, yea they have five china imports.
Maris Stella has 7 or more,
it is bad for the sport, I seriously doubt the ages of these imports. With the STTA talking about nurturing young local talent, how can this be made possible when players get demoralised after being trashed by these imports. The popularity of the game will take a real deep plunge…
Woot, go St. Gabriels! Dismising the gabrielite players negatively as “imports” is moronic – Raffles, Hwa Chong, even our own NATIONAL team gets talent from China and other countries.
yes…all of them are older than those people in c div…ver unfair and i think singapore should implement a rule on importing china players to represent these schools…especially maris stella..
What do you mean their age is not correctly reported? How old are they supposed to be and how old do they look?
nah, 5 of them only. not sure if their age is correctly reported though.
The boy in the picture aint a Catholic High player, he is one of them St Gabriel’s imports. -.-
Oh, an import? From China? Is the whole St Gabriel’s team imports?
