Singapore, Wednesday, July 20, 2011 — Those who missed out on a ticket for the World Cup qualifying game this Saturday between Singapore and Malaysia at the Jalan Besar Stadium can now do the next best thing — watch the game live at the grounds of the People’s Association, which is located right next to the stadium.
The first-leg match is scheduled for Saturday, July 23rd, 7.30pm.
All tickets for the match were sold out on the first day of sales last Saturday at the Jalan Besar Stadium. Overwhelming response from the public prompted the FAS to suggest the idea to PA which welcomed it as “an excellent opportunity for Singaporeans of different ages, different races and living across estates to gather and experience an evening of excitement, fun and bonding amongst them while cheering on our fellows Singaporeans on the pitch”.
Ridzal Saat, FAS Deputy Director (Marketing and Competitions) said: “People’s Association have been gracious and forthcoming with this initiative. This collaboration between the FAS and People’s Association is a great opportunity to give the fans who do not have tickets to bask in the match-day excitement and atmosphere. By watching the ‘live’ screening at the PA Lawn, these fans will lend an even stronger voice alongside those in the stadium. Let us all wear red and show the players our support.”
Gosh, our defenders were very terrible and Bennet is no better. I hope we do not get hammered in Shah Alam.
