Republic Polytechnic, Wednesday, February 4, 2009 – A more confident and stronger Northland Secondary beat Woodlands Ring 32-13 in a B Division Girls North Zone Netball Championship match this afternoon.
In the first quarter, Northland’s game was aggressive and fast-paced. Woodlands Ring gave it their best in the defence, putting in their utmost effort to intercept Northland’s plays. However, Northland had a stronger attack and a defence not lacking behind as well. They proved themselves to be the better team, winning the first quarter 10-2.
Despite being slightly discouraged, Woodlands Ring did not give up. With each quarter, Woodlands Ring improved their game, adding aggression and speed to their plays and they received constant cheers of encouragement from their fans in the stands.
Northland dominated much of the game, taking full advantage of their height and faster plays, and despite the spirit of the Woodlands Ring team, Northland emerged as the winner, defeating Woodlands Ring with a final score of 32-13.
Northland will be playing their final match against defending champions, the Singapore Sports School on Monday, February 9th, 4pm at Republic Polytechnic. The winner of the game will tops their group. Good luck!
