Singapore will take on five visiting countries in the NTUC FairPrice Foundation Nations Cup scheduled for December 5th to 11th.

Fiji, ranked number seven in the world, will feature in the tournament for the first time. Singapore lost 47-57 to the Fijians in the recent World Netball Championship held here in July 2011.

2008 Nations Cup champions Papua New Guinea (World Ranking 17), Malaysia (23), Sri Lanka (18) and Namibia (24) are the other invited countries.

Netball Singapore announced the Open squad in August 2011 and the selectors will decide on the final competition team on November 18th.

The squad sees seven new players primarily in attacking positions after the retirement of several veterans after the world championship. Jean Ng and Lin Qingyi are the co-captains of the squad.
