CCAB, Monday, February 20, 2012 — Anglo-Chinese School (Barker Road) beat Guangyang Secondary 44-41 to qualify for its first ever final in the South Zone B Division Basketball Championship.
The win is ACS(BR)’s ninth straight victory and they now have a perfect 9-0 win-loss record since the start of the zonal championship.
Guangyang had a 7-1 win-loss record going into the semi-final, their sole loss a 37-40 reverse coming at the hands of Serangoon Garden Secondary in Round 2.
Guangyang had finished Round 1 top of their group. They won all their four group games, which included a 29-26 win over Raffles Institution.
Unfortunately for Guangyang, it will be RI instead of them that will be playing in the South Zone championship final. RI beat Serangoon Garden in the other semi-final to book their spot in the final.
ACS(BR) have already met RI once this season, winning the Round 2 encounter 59-50.
The final between the two teams will take place at Jurong East Sports Complex, on Monday, March 5th, at 2:30pm.
