Presbyterian High, Tuesday, February 28, 2012 — Fairfield Methodist saw off Geylang Methodist 2-0 (25-20, 25-19) in a Round One, Group D match at the National B Division Boys’ Volleyball Championship.
The two teams traded points at the start but Fairfield slowly pulled away to a 10-7 lead.
However, Geylang Methodist came fighting back to level the score 12-12. Fairfield then retook the lead and held on right until the end as they took the set 25-20.
It was a similar situation in the second set as Fairfield pulled ahead to lead 12-6 at the start.
Geylang Methodist had difficulty putting points on the scoreboard as they saw their opponent run off further to a 15-9 lead. Despite managing to narrow the score-lines, they could not turn the tables on Fairfield and had to contend with Fairfield taking the set 25-19.
