Presbyterian High, Monday, March 19, 2012 — Dunman Secondary powered their way to a 2-0 (25-8, 25-16) in a Round Two, Group Y match at the National B Division Boy’s Volleyball Championship.
Dunman dominated the match as Clementi Town struggled to put up an answer to Dunman’s spikes. Dunman raced off to lead 7-2 and never looked back as they scored point after point. The team scored a total of 16 kills in the first set while Clementi Town managed six.
Despite a timeout by Clementi Town at the 18-8 mark, they could not break Dunman’s scoring streak as the latter pulled ahead to win 25-8.
Dunman took the lead right at the start of the second set. Clementi Town appeared to have settled in and gave Dunman a hard fight.
They held Dunman at bay and closed in to level the score 10-10.
However, Dunman managed to break free and pulled ahead to lead 14-10, prompting a timeout from Clementi Town. Clementi Town tried to stage a comeback, forcing through several powerful spikes to take valuable points. But despite putting up 11 kills in this set, Dunman still had a higher kill tally, scoring a total of 15 kills to ultimately win the set 25-16.
