Choa Chu Kang Stadium, Wednesday, April 4, 2012 — Jay Choo of Singapore Sports School won the C Division 100m Hurdles when he clocked 14.52 seconds at the 53rd National Schools’ Track and Field Championships.

The championship record of 13.81s was set in 2010 by Linus Chong, also of Singapore Sports School.

Jay’s time was the 15th fastest in the history of this event at these championships, and his winning margin of 0.63 seconds was the largest in four years.

0.11s separated the second and third placed runners. Ow Yeong Wei Bin of Hwa Chong Institution was second in 15.15s while Muhammad Hariz B Darajit of Raffles Institution was third in 15.26s. The two runners have both featured in four sprint hurdles finals dating back to 2008 when they competed in the Primary School championships, and Wei Bin leads the head-to-head record 3-1.
