Melacca, Tuesday, May 15, 2012 – The Singapore LionsXII failed to win a crucial game against bottom-placed Kuala Lumpur after being held to a goalless draw in the Malaysian Super League (MSL).
LionsXII are now in a patchy run of form, winning only two of their last six games.
LionsXII are still top of the MSL table with 41 points from 21 games while second-placed Kelantan have 37 points from 16.
LionsXII were expected to claim an easy three points, but gave a lackluster performance at the Hang Jebat Stadium. Kuala Lumpur, to their credit, put in a solid defensive shift with their players throwing their bodies at the few shots LionsXII had on goal.
LionsXII will now need Kelantan to experience a significant dip in form to have a shot at winning the MSL title.
LionsXII will next play Selangor at home on Sunday, May 20th.
