Jurong Secondary and Nanyang Girls’ progress into girls’ B Division West Zone volleyball semi-final

Jurong Secondary and Nanyang Girls’ High are into the semi-finals of the B Division Girls West Zone Volleyball Championship. Jurong topped Group A after beating Nanyang Girls’ 2-1 (26-24, 25-17, 25-8) in a thrilling encounter last week. Playing in the same group as Huayi Secondary, Unity Secondary and River Valley High, Jurong won all their group games comfortably while Nanyang had several close matches in the same group.

In Group B, Bukit Panjang Govt High emerged as the winners with Shuqun Secondary in second place. Bukit Panjang beat Shuqun 28-26, 26-24 in an equally close match. The other teams in Group B were Yuhua Secondary, Hillgrove Secondary, Balestier Secondary and Bukit View Secondary. Both Bukit Panjang and Shuqun won all their matches with ease.

Group A leaders Jurong Secondary will play Shuqun Secondary on Wednesday, February 18th, 2.15pm at Choa Chu Kang Sports Hall in the first semi-final. The next semi-final match which follows at 3pm will see Bukit Panjang fight it out with Nanyang Girls’ for a place in the final.

The final is scheduled for Thursday, February 19th, 1.30pm at Choa Chu Kang Sports Hall. It will happen right after the 3/4th placing match at 12.30pm.

The boys’ B Division West Zone Volleyball Championship Final will also be held on the same day at 2.30pm.
