Indianapolis, Friday, March 22, 2013 – Singapore’s Quah Ting Wen finished seventh in the final of the 100 yard (91.44 metres) butterfly race at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships.

Ting Wen, who was swimming under the banner of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), clocked 52.09 seconds.

The race was won by Olivia Scott of Auburn University in 51.64.

The 20 year old, who recently recovered from a broken arm, had clocked 52.08 in the heats to qualify for the final.

Division I is the highest level of intercollegiate sports in the United States of America.

Her top-eight finish makes her an all-American, an honorary title given to the best student-athletes in America.
