Clementi Sports Hall, Tuesday, July 9, 2013 – Juying Secondary beat Hillgrove Secondary 50–21 in their opening game of the West Zone C Division Boys’ Basketball Championship.
Gabriel Ho (#10) of Juying had a game-high 22 points, scoring 10 straight points at one point in the third quarter. Mandeep Singh (#8) of Hillgrove had a team-high 10 points.
A dominant performance in the first quarter, where Gabriel and Chin Hiap accounted for all the scoring, saw Juying lead 18–3 after the first 10 minutes. The scoring was closer in the second quarter, with Juying outscoring Hillgrove by just two points (8–6), but they still had a massive 26–9 lead at the half-time break.
Gabriel then had his 10-point streak in the third quarter which saw Darren Garcia drop a three-pointer to end the third with his team leading by 28 points (41–13).
Juying wrapped up a 50–21 victory after outscoring Hillgrove 9–6 in the final quarter.
