Bukit Merah Secondary School, Thursday, February 27, 2014 — Teck Whye Secondary helped themselves to a goalfest with a 30–0 win over Bedok Town Secondary in the first round of the National B Division Girls Floorball Championship. Nur Fayhqa (Teck Whye #12) led all scorers with seven goals.
Teck Whye now top Group H with a 3–0 win–loss record. They look to be in good shape to qualify for the next round, with their final game against Holy Innocents’ High on March 5.
Fatin Fatihah (Teck Whye #4) opened the scoring early on, scoring two long-range goals. From that point on, the floodgates opened for Teck Whye. They enjoyed a balanced scoring attack, with six different players finding the net in the first period.
Bedok Town were unable to create any offensive opportunities throughout the game, with their players dispossessed immediately each time they got the ball. Teck Whye made the most of these steals to score on the other end.
After a lull in the second period which saw only five goals, Teck Whye went on another scoring binge and scored 11 goals in the final period. The final buzzer must have been a welcome relief for Bedok Town, signalling the end of a game to forget. Teck Whye leaped to the top of the group with the 30–0 win, which also sets the record for the biggest margin of victory this season so far.
