Presbyterian High, Tuesday, March 10, 2014 — Geylang Methodist Secondary (GMSS) put in a strong performance to sweep Anderson Secondary 2–0 in the group stage of the National B Division Boys Volleyball Championship.
This was the first win for Geylang Methodist in Group C and they concluded their season with a 1–2 win–loss record. They finished third in the group behind qualifiers Catholic High and Bukit Panjang Government High. Anderson Secondary finished their season winless with a 0–3 win-loss record.
Geylang Methodist dominated throughout the game. Their setters did well to set up the spikes, leading to easy points. Anderson did not help with their poor return game with many unforced errors.
Both sets saw the same scene play out each time. Geylang Methodist would race out to a big lead, then methodically dismantle their opponents with overwhelming skill. Geylang Methodist won both sets 25–10.
