Choa Chu Kang Stadium, Tuesday, April 8, 2014 — Jay Choo of Singapore Sports School (SSP) clocked a timing of 14.57 seconds to bag the boys’ B Division 110m hurdles gold medal at the 55th National Inter-School Track & Field Championships.
Muhammad Hariz of Raffles Institution was second with a timing of 14.92s. Marcell Tan of SSP finished in 15.34s to bag the bronze medal.
Jay’s result was his second consecutive gold medal in the event. Jay finished with a timing of 14.84s in previous year’s edition, and had also won the C Boys 100m hurdles title in 2012.
Jay squeaked under his previous personal best of 14.58s set in the Asian Youth Games last August.
The B Division 110m hurdles record of 13.98s was set in 2010 by Victoria School alumnus Sean Toh.
