Jalan Besar Sports Centre will host the final of a series of ActiveSG Sports Festivals on Saturday, June 7, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
ActiveSG is a national movement helmed by Sport Singapore (SportSG). It seeks to create a sporting environment for all Singaporeans and serves to provide a wide variety of affordable sports programmes for everyone. It is one of the recommendations of Vision 2030.
Themed “Power Up, Game On”, the Sports Festival will feature an exclusive guided tour of the Lions’ Den. The guided tour will include walkthroughs of the dressing rooms, the tunnels and the key facilities that support the Young Lions at their games.
The Sports Festival also includes men’s 5-a-side football and flippa ball tournaments at the football pitch and the pool respectively. There will be poolside bowling activities and tennis try-outs made available for those who are seeking less strenuous activities.
Members of the public will also be able to sign up for the free ActiveSG membership. The membership is valid for life and it is open to all Singaporeans and permanent residents.
Admission to the facilities at Jalan Besar Sports Centre is free through the event.
