Singapore Sports Hub, January 23, 2015 — The Singapore National Olympic Council (SNOC) and Sunrise & Company inked a six-year deal, which will see the company provide Team Singapore athletes and officials with Yonex-branded apparel through 2020 at major games.
The agreement is an extension of an existing 42-year partnership between both parties. Sunrise & Company has been providing Yonex apparel for Singapore teams since the 1973 Southeast Asian Peninsular Games. For upcoming games, athletes and officials will receive track suits, polo T-shirts, shorts, thermal gear, luggage gear, head wear, water bottles and outer-wear for aquatic sports.
Mr Tan Chuan-Jin, Minister for Manpower and President of the SNOC, and Mr Ng Ser Miang, International Olympic Committee member and Chairman of SNOC’s Marketing Committee, were present to witness the signing ceremony between Mr Chris Chan, Secretary-General of SNOC, and Mr Harinder Garga, Head of Group Business Development of Sunrise & Company.
Mr Jimmy Seth, Director of Sunrise & Company, said, “It gives us great pride to extend Yonex’s four-decade-old partnership with SNOC. This means Team Singapore will be wearing Yonex-branded apparel at all major international games for another six years, beginning with the upcoming 2015 SEA Games at home and culminating at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.”
“The partnership between SNOC and Sunrise is one which has stood the test of time and the uncertainties of the economy over the last 42 years. In good or bad times, Sunrise and Yonex have always been there to support SNOC and Singapore athletes and officials. I believe this partnership is the longest-standing sponsorship in Singapore, and we look forward to many more years ahead working with Sunrise and Yonex,” said Mr Chris Chan.
