Bedok Sports Hall, Wednesday, March 11, 2015 — Cedar Girls’ Secondary led through all four quarters to eventually secure a well-deserved 23–9 win over Tanjong Katong Girls’ (TKGS) in the East Zone B Division Netball Championship. With this win, they secure a third place finish.
Both teams were evenly matched in the first quarter. However, Cedar Girls’ utilised quick, short passes, displaying superior chemistry right from the start. This gave them a slight edge over TKGS.
Cedar Girls’ fluid display of teamwork allowed them to quickly extend their lead. Shots at goal were taken with great confidence by their Goal Shooter, often from difficult angles.
In contrast, inaccurate passing from TKGS proved to be their achilles heel. Their call for a goal went unanswered as inaccurate passing cost them many goal opportunities.
Additionally, good defending by Cedar Girls’ Goal Keeper and Goal Defence only served to hinder TKGS’s attacks even more.
With a strong defence line, Cedar Girls’ were able to focus on their attacking. As such, they were able to gain a very comfortable 18–7 lead in the third quarter, scoring seven straight goals at one point.
Cedar Girls’ relentless attack gave TKGS little space to recover. Despite the best efforts of TKGS to narrow the score deficit, they fell 9–23 to Cedar Girls’.
