Bedok Sports Hall, Wednesday, March 11, 2015 — Paya Lebar Methodist Girls’ school (PLMGS) triumphed 28–15 over Dunman Secondary to finish third in the East Zone B Division Netball Championship.

PLMGS took an early lead in the first quarter, scoring three goals before Dunman answered with two of their own. However, as Dunman had more effective and smoother passes, the score was tied at the end of the quarter.

Dunman were rejuvenated in the second quarter and took the lead for the first time. However, PLMGS were determined to narrow the score deficit. Although Dunman’s Goal Defender did an outstanding job in blocking out PLMGS’s Goal Shooter, PLMGS were able to even the score.

In the third quarter, PLMGS recovered from their lacklustre performance in the first two quarters to dominate the match. They scored an astounding twelve goals in the quarter alone. Dunman’s long passes were successful but were not capitalised on for more goals. With PLMGS intercepting most of their attempts to shoot, they were unable to recover.

PLMGS continued to dominate even in the last quarter, forcing Dunman to play an exhausting game of catch-up. Although Dunman persistently fought for every ball, they were unable to break through PLMGS’s strong defence.

PLMGS’s ability to counter-attack very quickly also hurt Dunman’s chances at goal. Hence, PLMGS was able to win the game with a comfortable score of 28–15.
