Bukit Gombak Stadium, Tuesday, April 14, 2015 — Participating in her first B Division 100m hurdles event, Singapore Sports School’s Tia Louise Rozario (#101) ran her way to a 15.19 second finish to win gold at the 56th National Inter-School Track and Field Championships.
The 15-year-old, whose finish gives her her third hurdles title, cites her biggest problem to be her tempo between the hurdles.
“Being only in Secondary 3, I was just aiming for a personal best,” said Rozario (#101), whose personal best stands at 14.98 seconds.
She added, “I’m just really thankful that nothing bad happened to me because a lot of bad stuff has been happening to the rest, like injuries and all.”
Joining Rozario (#101) on the podium are Tan Jing Wei (#265) of Cedar Girls’ Secondary, and Tan Rou Ann (#410) of Nanyang Girls’ High, who finished second and third in 15.99 and 16.78 seconds respectively.
This marks the second time that the three girls are sharing the podium together. The trio recorded a similar 1-2-3 finish in the C Division 80m hurdles event last year.
The meet record of 14.65 seconds, set last year, is held by Singapore Sports School alumna, Nur Izlyn.
