Republic Polytechnic, Tuesday, February 23, 2016 — Seng Kang Secondary (SKS) defeated Orchid Park Secondary (OPS) 50-2 in the North Zone B Division Netball Championship to end their season on a high with four wins and two losses. This was also the last game for Orchid Park and they finished winless.
It was a one-sided affair as Seng Kang dominated the game with their impregnable defence and sharp shooting. Orchid Park, on the other hand found it difficult to match up to Seng Kang’s fast pace of play.
In the first quarter, Seng Kang’s good interceptions brought them many easy shots. At the same time, their defense was so strong that Orchid Park were unable to break through to reach the shooting semicircle, except for one rare instance. The first quarter then ended with Seng Kang leading 14-1.
The second quarter saw Orchid Park scoreless as Seng Kang put a further 12 points on the board for a 26-1 lead.
In the third quarter, Orchid Park fought back. However, they struggled with their passes. As such, they only managed to bag one goal in this period, as they were outscored 12-1.
Seng Kang eventually wrapped up the victory and their players broke out in smiles at the final whistle.
Seng Kang captain Enyi said, “This game was more of having fun, since it would be our last game. Thus we just gave our all on the court and hopefully we leave with no regrets.”
