Yishun Sports Hall, Friday, April 1, 2016 — Bukit Merah Secondary (BM) overpowered Coral Secondary (CS) 7-1 in the semi-finals of the National B Division Girls Floorball Championship.
Bukit Merah dominated the game from beginning to the end with their impressive play.
Agnes Loh (BM #12) scored the opening goal when she hit a clean shot into the net two minutes into the game, sending her teammates on the bench into a frenzy. Her teammates Tan Wan Ni (BM #10) and Berdan Concepcion (BM #11) then added another goal each to give Bukit Merah a 3-0 at lead at the end of the first period.
In the second period, Bukit Merah continued their scoring streak with Abygael Koh (BM #7), Tan Wan Ni (BM #10) and Edelyn Embile (BM #20) bagging a goal each for a 6-0 lead. Coral remained scoreless as they found it difficult to get pass Bukit Merah’s strong defense.
The final period saw many attempts by Coral to score. Their efforts paid off as Regina Ong (CS #21) drove the ball successfully into the net in the last three minutes of the game. However, seconds later, Berdan Conception (BM #21) replied with another goal to wrap up the 7-1 victory.
Captain Agnes Loh (BM #12) said, “I think the girls gave their best and went all out today. They finally showed their desire to win and get into the first or second placing.”
Bukit Merah next face off with Orchid Park Secondary for the highly anticipated championship game on April 6 at Yishun Sports Hall.
