Nike League Semi-final

After several very close and exciting finishes this afternoon, we are down to the final two teams in the Boys and Girls divisions of the Nike Schools Basketball League.

 
BOYS 
In an exciting game that was close throughout, Serangoon Garden pulled out a victory over Yio Chu Kang on a basket by Koa Wei Quan with just 12 seconds remaining.  Final score:  57-55.   Serangoon Garden was lead by Koa Wei Quan (24 points) and Li Zhen Hong (20 pts.).
 
In the other semifinal, Raffles Institution advanced with a comfortable win against Hougang:  80-54.  The victory for Raffles came despite a strong performance by Hougang’s Khoo Dawei (32 pts.).  Top scorers for Raffles were Chey Zheng Feng (29 pts.) and Chng An Zhen (21 pts.).   
 
 
GIRLS
Jurong West defeated MacPherson in a tightly contested game, with Jurong pulling away only in the last minute with a 48-36 victory.
 
They will meet Bedok North in the finals.   Bedok defeated Naval Base 49-28.
 
The Finals take place this Friday, April 13, at the Singapore Basketball Center in Geylang East as follows:
–          2:45:  GIRLS  (Jurong West vs. Bedok North)
–          4:15:  BOYS  (Serangoon Garden vs. Raffles Institution)


Red Sports say:  Good luck to all the finalists!  We will not be able to cover the Nike League finals, as we’re trying to report news from the National Inter-school games during this exciting period where all the quarters/semis/finals are taking place and ‘A’ division has finally started.  But we would really love it if you could take some pictures and send them to us, we’d very gladly post it on redsports.sg for you!
