Hello, everybody!!
We might have taken a little longer than we ought to, but Red Sports are finally back online! An unexpected choke with our server migration that got us hanging for a couple of days, the web site down for the past few hours, and now us lagging a little in our live coverage of the National ‘B’ and ‘C’ Division Netball Finals, but we hope all’s been overcome.
And we’re raring to go again – right here from Toa Payoh Sports Hall!
Once again, this is Cheng, reporting live to you for the National ‘B’ and ‘C’ Division Netball Finals. Leslie’s here with me today, and we have the company of a first-time volunteer-photographer Marvin Lowe, as well as our very own Coach Dick Yip! Stick around with us for the next hour and we’ll bring you highlights of the action going on around here in Toa Payoh.
In what has been touted as a very exciting and rather unexpected, at times controversial, season for both divisions, the finalists have come a long way, ousting strong, if not stronger, teams to get to their deserved spot on the court today.
In the last semi-final games played in the ‘B’ division, Raffles Girls’ beat Damai Secondary 32-15, and earned themselves the right to pit for the Championship title today against North Vista, who had in turn beaten Tanjong Katong Girls’ 25-22 in the semi-final.
Raffles Girls’ School could’ve had a fruitful season this year, with a double Netball championship. But in the earlier ‘C’ Division Final that kicked off at half-past-one, Dunman Secondary showed off their prowess as the rightful National ‘C’ Girls’ Netball Champions when they trounced Raffles Girls’ 30-17.
In the National ‘B’ Girls’ Final that has just ended, Raffles Girls’ fought a tought battle to eventually beat North Vista 28-24 to be crowned ‘B’ Champions for the year.
Keep watching out for this space on redsports.sg as we bring you the full match reports, as well as the much-anticipated action highlights in the gallery and in a new episode of RedSportsTV! 🙂

aww.. thats so sweet! thanks! 🙂 i just enjoyed the game, like my coach told me to..
The WA of NVista just dropped by the chat box on this site to say that RGS were deserving champion. I believe her name is Daphne.
That really struck me. That even though she was on the losing end of the game, she is generous in spirit and big hearted.
During the game, despite the pressure of a National Final, she played with a smile and when Christina scored a goal, she clapped and smiled at her team mate. Anyone would be happy to have such a supportive team mate.
You got class, girl. 😉
thanks alot, everyone. 🙂
although many claimed that Nv and Rgs game was a good close one. i really think that Nv could do better ive seen them play at kallang and they sure are better then what we saw ytd. i believe its because of the change in the defenders. i was there hoping to see a really good play and i was rewarded but Nv could have shown us much more. But anyway grats to Rgs and Nv for achieving top2 in nationals.
yes, congrats to RGS. this year we are seeing a lot more new schs coming up in the game which was traditionally dominated by a few schs namely CHIJ & RGS. it is good for the game to see other upcoming teams frm the neighbourhood schs. keep it up!!
congrats to raffles is achieving the ‘B’ div champions . north vista played a very good game . just a neighbour hood school, could enter north zone finals and nationals finals. please dont under estimate these players
