CCAB, Friday, August 21, 2009 – St Andrew’s Secondary beat Raffles Institution 10-5 to capture third place in the C Division Rugby Championship.
Lightning and thunder threatened to wipe the game out but it cleared up in time to allow the game to go on.
The game started with RI receiving. From, the kick, a RI player dropped the ball. Scrum after scrum happened as the field was wet and slippery, and the scrums kept collapsing. Line outs were a huge mess as the ball was slippery and wet.
After 7 to 8 scrums with little action, the ball was passed out to a saint’s centre who broke through the line and scored. The try was converted and the score was 7-0.
RI attacked back but lost the ball when closing the try line and Saints kicked the ball back down. Ref then called for a time out.
RI were looking to come back despite being down 0-7 but Saints were awarded a penalty and it was converted to make it 10-0.
RI kept attacking and attacking to score. Their forwards did a few crash balls and sucked in the defenders. The ball was passed out to the RI winger, Samuel, and he almost scored a try but was high tackled and the referee awarded RI a penalty try which RI converted to make it 5-10.

@Branden (Saints): Thanks for the name correction. Updated!

now i c alot ppl wearing skins ah. 1st picture alr both jumpers wearing it. is skins that good??
outsider, The commentator or the speaker said, ‘4th place, we have raffles’ and raffles had to come up and collect their prize. then the speaker said, ‘3rd place, we have saints’. So saints have to collect their prize too, after that i saw raffles and saints showing great support by cheering for ac barker. They didn’t “scooted hurriedly”. Could you open your eyes wider, i think u might want to go for an eyecheckup, it would be helpful for you in the future finals to come. And could you pls be more professional and gentleman. don’t call others losers. And please be specific, if u meant that all the 1st to 4th positions medals are to be presented after the finals, then express it properly. Don’t say ALL medals.
excuse me outsider, i beg ur pardon? we saints have to rush to to something. wad do u noe? did u even win anything?
uh actually, both Raffles and Saints were presented their medals before the finals. So Saints was not being unsporting.
I was told saints was so unsporting they did an unthinkable act of collecting their medals before the final was played n scooted hurriedly. Isnt it a sporting tradition that all medals are to be presented after the finals?
Classic example of sore losers n no sportsmanship.

There is an error at photo 5. The RI player is called Subastian Tan. Not Sebastian. Do change soon.
