Singapore Swimming Club, September 12-13, 2009 – This year's Singapore Swimming Club Open Invitational Midget Meet attracted 374 swimmers from 14 Swim Clubs – including three from Vietnam and the Philippines.
The annual meet caters to swimmers aged eight years and under with a 30m pool distance. Singapore Swimming Association President Mr Jeffrey Leow was guest of honour.
Some of the younger kids were initially awestruck and it was difficult to get them to focus on their race. But as the day wore on, they warmed up to the spirit of the meet and rose to the occasion. That was when the records started to fall.
In all, 15 records were rewritten at this year’s meet.
Congratulations to all swimmers who won medals at the meet and also to those who trained hard to represent their Clubs.
