Story and pictures contributed by reader Mr Wee Ban Bee.
PJC, Friday, May 9, 2008 – Anglo-Chinese Junior College beat Raffles Junior College 20-0 in the 3rd/4th placing match yesterday to secure third place in the A Division Rugby Championship. ACJC dominated much of the match, scoring one penalty and two tries, with one converted during the first half of the match. Half time score was 15-0 in favour of ACJC.
The second half was hard fought with RJC almost breaking ACJC’s defence. But with solid defending by the ACJC ruggers, RJC was unable to penetrate through to the try line.
Just before full-time, ACJC was able to put in another unconverted try to make it 20-0.
Ed’s note: If you recognise yourself or your team mates in any of the photos, feel free to leave the names behind in the comments section and we will update the captions accordingly. Thanks!
FYI observer, ACSI coach also coaches 3 divisions, and our ACS junior school as well. Many competitions occurring concurrently.
Tell me who isnt overstretched, especially the ruggers.
I hope by now, any discerning reader would know anon is NOT FROM ACS. He is ‘ phantom from the…..’
Seriously, who’s this ‘anon’? Who’s he, really.
well considering rj’s coach is the only coach for rjc and he co-coaches ri as well, i guess he got overstretched when the bdiv and adiv started happening cocurrently
TTan…would you grow up? Uncle Ban Wee takes photos for ACS teams week in week out and all you do is just whine. That is utterly disrespectful. You’re a disgrace to ACS. I think you owe him an apology if anything for being so rude and ignorant. Why are you so quiet now after all the comments?
rugby ftw! ^_^
TTan, that was very disrespectful. Regarding RJ, i frankly do not think the fault lies with the expat coach. They did win last year after all.
TTan, I think you need to grow up. If you are so sensitive to such captions, then I think you are not mature enough for this website.
Also, before you shoot your mouth off making comments about our contributors, I suggest you think about what you have done for this site except for sticking your rude comments. Have you contributed to the site? Any stories or posts from you? If the answers are no, then I suggest you think twice before condemning our posts.
You are welcomed to submit stories based on your perspective. You send it, we post it.
well,..ACJC sure took a long time to realise they could play real rugby,..should have played like this last week.
well done, nevertheless!. looks like Raffles gotta change another coach. maybe ORA should ake over,..since the expat coaches came, they have not been performing.
its ok dun be sore. sore heals with time
The captions were written by someone from neither school and is a volunteer with red sports.
Mr Wee is an ACS old boy and kindly gives us these pictures and stories so that folks like you can pick apart the captions and wonder if the contributor has something against AC and is naturally biased.
TTan, maybe you should relax or you’ll pop a vein.
Aey, the captions to the pictures ABIT the biased, I feel.
‘An ACJC player tries to wrestle the ball…ACJC player tries to charge through…ACJC player tries to outrun…tries to take down…tries hard to take down [RJC player]..’
And then the caption of the RJ player goes ‘An RJC rugger takes the ball from his teammate while hassled by his ACJC opponent’
Wee Ban Bee, ex-RJ? Luckily the score is quite plain about where all the REAL tries went.
spell theory right, firstly.
arrogance brought rj down probably. lol?
