Republic Polytechnic Sports Complex Competition Hall, Wednesday, November 4, 2009 - Temasek Polytechnic produced a powerful performance which Singapore Polytechnic (SP) could not contain in this women's Polytechnic-Institute of Technical Education (POL-ITE) Floorball Championship match.

TP had a 1-1-2 win-draw-loss record before the game while SP were looking for their first win having lost the first four matches.

TP took a commanding 2-0 lead in the first six minutes with Maria Chia (TP #17) and Lim Wen Lin (TP #95) scoring. They dominated the first period with six shots on goal to SP's one attempt as SP lost the ball frequently and hardly went past their own half.

The second period saw TP continued to control the match as they took a 4-0 lead. On 37.17, Nurliyama Bte Mohamed Salleh (#8) swept the ball into the top left corner from quarter court after a cutback from the right by her teammate.

Then on 20.02, Jowie Tan (#16) proceed to slot the ball home amidst a melee after teammate Liew Lin Ting (#24) could not get her shot away.

SP has a chance to hit back straight after but Rafhannah Bte Rahim (#87)'s shot from quarter court after a Khairunnisa Bte Ismail (#10)'s cutback was well saved by the TP goalie Carole Ogawa (#4).

The final five minutes of the period was totally dominated by TP as SP's custodian Nur Liyana Bte Rosli (#2) was troubled on several occasions. Tries from Jowie Tan, Nury Idzaty (#5) and Khairunnisa Bte Anuar (#29) in the quarter court range were all denied by Nur Liyana's reflexes.

The third period saw SP got a consolation on 33.15 after Anslie Kua (#24) slammed in a loose ball in the penalty area, reducing the arrears to 1-4 for only SP's second goal in the championship thus far. SP's Siti Baizurah (#90) also had a chance from quarter court but her effort was saved by Carole's legs.

TP's Maisurah Bte Muhammed (#14) knocked SP's Khairunnisa Bte Ismail down with three minutes left, riling up the SP coach who protested furiously to the ref for what felt was a foul. His frustrations was further increased seconds later as Rafhannah received a 2-min penalty for a violation. Shouts of ´Hold the ball!' can be heard as his team looks nervy bringing the ball out of defence for the last two minutes.

The last action of the period saw TP's Maria Chia firing over. As the final whistle sounded, loud cheers were heard from the TP supporters as the SP coach could be heard still protesting to the referee about the incident earlier.

This was the last match of the POL-ITE championship for both teams, with TP finished fourth in the table with two wins, one draw and two losses, while SP finished bottom with five losses and a goal difference of minus 40, having scored two and conceded 42.
