Choa Chu Kang Stadium, Friday, July 11, 2008 – Jamie Ross Coates (#94) from the Singapore Sports School broke the 25-year old meet record for the B Division Boys 400m event at the 49th Inter-school Track & Field Championships with a time of 49.75s, eclipsing the time of 50.00s set in 1982 by former record holder Lee Ching Hing. This makes it the first time a B Division runner has ever achieved a time of under 50 seconds. Jamie, the current C Division Boys record holder, was the favourite to win big this time round. This is his second B Division gold after he also won the gold last year with a time of 51.64s.
Taking the silver was Ong Chin Hwee (#594) from Tanglin Secondary with a time of 50.23s.
Following close behind was Mohamad Khalis B Mohamad (#35) from Ang Mo Kio Secondary. He came in with a time of 50.52s. Khalis came in third last year in the same event with a time of 52.57s.

Hi,a big thank you for the wonderful website you’ve set up. Would like to show this to my principal. May I request a correction for the report on the 400m B Division boys. Ong Chin Hwee #594 is from Tanglin Secondary School(TS) and not Temasek Secondary as reported. Thank you.
