Message brought to you by POSB
POSB is once again reaching out to children and promoting community ties with the POSB Run for Kids 2010. The event will take place on 19 September and registrations are now open. We invite you to show support for the run and join POSB in championing a worthy cause for kids by lending your voice to it.
Since the late 1960s, POSB has been an advocate of savings among the young in Singapore. POSB also recognises the importance of educating and developing the young to give them a head start in life.
With the encouraging response of over 3,500 participants for the inaugural POSB Run for Kids in 2009, POSB sets out to organise a bigger event and to raise even more funds for underprivileged children this year.
Other than the 8.5km Competitive Run, 4.5km Fun Run and 1.2km Kids Run, we have added an Inter-school Challenge for the 1.2km Kids Run. This new challenge, open to the 20 primary schools within the Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC, is designed to encourage children to take on an active role in community service while having fun. The top three primary schools with the most number of runners will be presented with trophies and awarded funds for the schools’ community projects.
Supporters can also expect to engage in numerous fun activities at the event’s fair on the day of the run.
All funds raised from POSB Run for Kids will be channelled to aid the less privileged primary school students in 20 Primary Schools in Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC. The fund will be managed by the 6 Citizens’ Consultative Committees, with dollar-for-dollar matching by the North East Community Development Council.
POSB is proud to be working in partnership with the North East CDC and Pasir Ris–Punggol GRC to organise POSB Run for Kids 2010, which will take place at Anchorvale Street on 19 September. This event will be graced by Deputy Prime Minister Mr Teo Chee Hean and DBS CEO Mr Piyush Gupta.
Sign up for the POSB Run for Kids at any POSB branches, AXS Stations, any Community Centres or Clubs in Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC or www.posb.com.sg/runforkids. Registrations will close with the sign-up of 5,000 runners or on 21 August 2010, whichever is earlier.
