Sengkang Hockey Stadium, Friday, August 20, 2010 – Singapore boys’ hockey team put up a good showing against Asian powerhouse Pakistan but eventually had to concede to their third successive loss in as many games, losing 1-4.
Singapore managed to take a 1-0 lead after Mohd Haseef (#4) converted a penalty corner. The hosts enjoyed the advantage for the majority of the first half before Pakistan’s Ahmed Zubair (#2) leveled the score within the final minutes of the half.
Three second half goals from Pakistan’s Muhammad Rizwan (#8), Muhammad Arslan Qadir (#11) and Muhammad Suleman (#14) denied Singapore a chance to spark a revival towards the end of the game.
