Singapore Indoor Stadium, Saturday, August 21, 2010 — Team Singapore’s Isabelle Li easily defeated her British opponent Alice Loveridge in straight sets in the opening Round 1 match of the women’s table-tennis singles.

Isabelle won the match with a score of 14-12, 11-1, 11-3.

The Men’s event saw Clarence Chew repeating the feat, this time against Malawi’s Patrick Massah, 11-3, 11-2, 11-5.

Both will play a total of three Round 1 ties, with the top two from each group advancing to the second round.
