Hi Red Sports readers,
Thanks for taking the time to nominate your athletes and teams for the vote over the last few months.
We’ve run these reader-driven polls for the last three years to encourage our student athletes on the field of play. This year, we have a sponsor who wanted us to raise the bar a little and award title-winning or record-breaking athletes and teams.
Therefore, the ultimate winner of the the team and athlete of the year awards will be picked by a panel of Red Sports crew and 100PLUS representatives. Who the panel picks as the winners will also be influenced by how the individual athletes and teams perform in the poll.
There are two tiers to the voting. The nominated teams and individual athletes who have won national titles and set records will be in a poll by themselves.
At the same time, we recognise that other athletes who have not won any titles have also been nominated and we want to acknowledge them in a separate readers’ poll.
We haven’t broken down the categories further for the polls and so C Division athletes will come up against A Division players, boys are up against girls.
We want to keep the voting compact and limited to just four polls.
Have fun voting ; )
Things to Note
Polls will start on Friday, September 10th, 10am.
Polls will close on Wednesday, December 15th, 1am.
All individuals athletes and teams in the poll have been nominated by readers.
